Beatles Bike

The One & Only

About The Bike

The bike is a 2002 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide.  It was ordered from H-D of Frederick (MD) on Father's Day of 2001.  The bike arrived at the dealership in early September and I received a phone call that it would be ready for delivery on September 11, 2001.  The weather that morning, as we all know, was picture perfect.  My best friend came over around 8:00AM and we were going to be at the Dealership right when it opened.  I'd been looking forward to getting my first Harley for years and was really looking forward to this day.  Just before we were going to leave my house the phone rang and my friends wife told him to turn on the TV.  After watching the events unfold that morning, we went to pick up the motorcycle.  Obviously, it was a tragic and somber day for everyone.

The bike has every H-D chrome accessory that Harley makes.  Modifications include Screaming Eagle jets and air cleaner, and Vance & Hines pipes.  It's 99.9% Harley  with  some Chris Cruz (custom paint) and Alligator Bob (seat & back rest) magic.

Why a Beatles Themed Bike?

Simple, I've been a huge Beatles fan and collector since they first came to the US.  After I got my Harley and started going to many of the dealerships and bike events I began admiring many of the custom bikes I saw.  Not only Choppers, but Harley's with custom paint jobs and other modifications.  I've seen a lot of really cool Choppers, but after a while they're hard to differentiate from each other. Most have flames and/or skulls, etc.

However, the bikes that I've seen that really stick out in my mind have been a Vietnam POW bike; Jack Daniels bike; 9/11 bike; 3 Stooges bike; an Indian themed bike with a side car and a Major League Baseball themed bike.  I think this bike falls into that category and will be one people remember long after they've seen it.
